Middletown Police Search For Suspect Wanted In Area Stabbing

MIDDLETOWN, N.Y. – The Middletown Police Department is searching for a suspect wanted in connection with a stabbing on Thursday night, officials said.

The incident was reported just after  7:30 p.m. in the area of Fairlawn Ave. and Wisner Place. Responders found Korei Mason-Briggs, 22, of Middletown suffering from a single stab-wound to the chest in the parking lot of the Sunoco Gas Station on Route 211. The wound was the result of an altercation with a known associate, police said. 

Police Officers Patrick Cunningham and Patricia Doremus were able to provide life-saving medical care to Mason-Briggs before he was transported to Orange Regional Medical Center, officials said. 

Following the altercation, the suspect fled the scene in an unknown direction. Police are withholding his identity as part of the investigation.
